Location
Šilo is the largest of Dobrinj's local villages with a long tradition of welcoming tourists.
It's very picturesque, situated in a protected bay Stipanja, naturally closed by "Punta Šilo".
It lies in the immediate vicinity of Crikvenica and its Riviera, separated from it by the Canal of Vinodol and only appr. 20 kilometers away from the Krk-bridge. One of Šilo's particular qualities are its numerous and naturally protected pebble beaches (coves) and the specially well known sandybeach with its clear, pleasant sea, ideal for small children. Šilo boasts a long fishing tradition and plays host to regular "sea fiestas". Also poular with tourists are various sport and entertainment events.
Tennis courts, beach volleyball courts and various water sports (sailing, rowing, diving, etc.). In the immediate vicinity of Šilo is the shipwreck "Peltastis", making one of the most interesting places for divers in the Croatian sea. Your gastronomic needs will be satisfied by small pubs offering traditonal and international food.
Besides the wonderful nature and the pleasant climat, these small villages offer numerous historic and cultural sights as well, like the early romanic church of St.Vid, "Alea Glagoljasa" and the church of St.Peter in Gabonjin, the beautiful cave "Biserujka" in Rudine etc.
